Food Basics Commits to Delivering Always More For Less  to St. Thomas

St. Thomas, ON, March 21, 2019 -  Food Basics opened its doors to a brand-new location as of 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 21 in St. Thomas, ON, located at 780 Talbot Street. A grand opening celebration was held in the morning, featuring light refreshments and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Joe Preston.

“The team and I could not be more excited to open our doors to this fantastic community,” says Jordan Manax, Store Manager. “We’re proud of the store that we’ve built, and we look forward to delivering food that is always fresh, always in-stock and always at great prices.”

With more than 20,000 sq. ft. of modern retail space, Food Basics’ latest store features also include organic produce, BBQ chicken and lots of local flavour. The grocer also offers customers a wide array of its high-quality, budget-friendly Irresistibles and Selection store brand products.

“It was really important for us to get to know the community while we were building this store, because of this, you’ll see a variety of local products on our shelves including LaChica’s Coffee, Living Alive Granola, Shaw’s Ice Cream and Spicer’s Bakery among others.” says John Manax, Vice President of Operations, Food Basics.

To emphasize its commitment to playing an active role within St. Thomas, Food Basics presented a cheque at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank, to help fight food insecurity in the area.

Food Basics operates a network of 132 stores (including its newest addition in St. Thomas) based on three guiding pillars: Always Fresh, Always in Stock and Always Great Prices.
